Steak and Cheese Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • Beef: Any cut (we usually buy a large portion and cut it into steaks)
  • 1 Green Pepper
  • 1 Onion
  • Cheese: Your choice (use what you have on hand)
  • Sub Rolls: Store-bought or homemade
  • Spices: Black pepper, meat tenderizer, garlic powder, and a small amount of Italian seasoning
  • Olive Oil: Or any oil of your choice

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:

    • Cut the beef into thin strips.
    • Slice the green pepper and onion.
  2. Cook the Beef:

    • Heat a splash of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the beef strips to the skillet.
    • Season the beef directly in the pan with black pepper, meat tenderizer, garlic powder, and a small amount of Italian seasoning.
    • Cook the beef until it is browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Vegetables:

    • In the same skillet, add another splash of olive oil if needed.
    • Add the sliced green pepper and onion, sautéing until tender and slightly caramelized.
  4. Assemble the Sandwiches:

    • Split the sub rolls.
    • Layer the cooked beef, sautéed vegetables, and cheese inside the rolls.
  5. Melt the Cheese:

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Place the assembled sandwiches on a baking sheet.
    • Put them in the oven for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sandwiches are heated.
  6. Serve:

    • Serve the sandwiches hot and enjoy!
