Cole Slaw KFC Knock Off Style
Like KFC but Fresh and soooo good!

- 1 Bag coleslaw mix or 6 cups finely shredded cabbage + 1 carrot grated
- 1/4 cup finely mined onion Optional but athentic
- 1/2 cup mayonaise
- 1/4 cup buttermilk No buttermilk? 1/4 cup milk and 1 tsp vinegar let sit for 5 minutes.
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 TBSP lemon juice
- 1 1/2 TBSP white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp salt More or less to taste
- 1/2 tsp pepper More or less to taste
- 1/4 tsp onion powder Optional
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder Optional
Mix the dressing: Whisk together all the dressing ingredients in a bowl until smooth. Everything but the carrots, cabbage and onion.
If you're shredding cabbage and carrot by hand or in a food processor, aim for a fine chop (KFC’s is almost minced!).
Combine & Chill! Pour dressing over cabbage mix and onion. Stir well to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours, but it’s best overnight. It gets creamier and more flavorful the longer it sits!
TIPS:Want it extra sweet like KFC? Add a pinch more sugar.No buttermilk? No problem! Mix milk with lemon juice and let sit for 5 minutes.Keeps in the fridge for 3–4 days!
